A love tale differently told on the celluloid by Ace Director Sunil Kumar Desai who has to his credit such renowned films as NISHKARSHA, BELADINGALA BALE has once again scored in this film with his deft direction. His way of telling the story in a simple and subtle way is really commendable. Exotic locations of North Karnataka which was hitherto untouched by any film-maker is a plus point in this film and one would feel like virtually visiting the picturesque locations.
Music by Ilayaraja has lilting tunes and the background score is in harmony with the good tempo. Some of the tunes are memorable and will linger in your hearts. Dialogues intertwined with the dialect of North Karnataka are simply superb.
Hat-trick hero Shivarajkumar has once again put in an excellent performance. Prema, the heroine who was spotted in Upendra's 'OM" has lived her character by portraying the role of a girl torn between love and friendship with great poise. Ramesh who has been bagging very good movies these days has given an unparalelled performance and he steals the show. Supporting roles by Suman Nagarkar and others are adequate and the boy playing the role of Prema's brother leaves an indelible impression. It is heartening to note that the Kannada filmdom which was in doldrums sometime back is regaining its momentum by making such movies and anybody who would have had a deplorable impression about the standard of Kannada films, will definitely change their opinion after watching this movie. NAMMOORA MANDHARA HOOVE is totally a visual treat; it's an absolutely neat and clean film without any vulgarity and it is really worth watchable. Producer Jayashridevi who is reputed for making films in Kannada for the connoisseur has added another colourful feather in her cap by making NAMMOORA MANDARA HOOVE.
