Experiences of Dhyan,
(Hero)

Since this is my very 1st film, every moment during the making was a great experience. Though I have done ads and music videos in the past, working in a feature film was a completely different experience in itself.
I got to learn a lot in this movie and also realised that movie making is very different from ads and music videos. Mr. Chandrashekhar (director) has always been a great source of inspiration. He was like an elder brother to me and always guided me in all respects. He helped the complete team to stay focused and work hard as one family. He did a great job in extracting the best out of me and also the other members. Inspite of being alone on the shooting shedules I never did once feel out of place or lonely. Shooting was always fun irrespective of the time of the day.
I learnt a lot to grow as a person and also as an actor. I cherised every moment during the making of this film and will always remember it as one of the great experience of my career. As of now I'm excited about the release of the film and am looking forward to seeing the public response of the movie.

Experiences of Deepali,(Heroine)

Being heroine and acting the title role in my first movie with Nagathihalli Chandrashekar seemed like a himalayan task. However starting with the screen test, with encouragement from the director, I started getting comfortable before the camera and in delivering dialogues. I was thrilled when the director choose me after the screen test. The shooting of the movie itself in an around Michigan was a lot of hard work. But everyone from the director, the crew and fellow artistes were enthusiastic and helped me with my work.
Some times I feel that this whole thing is a dream and pinch myself to make sure it is true! I am eagerly looking forward to the successful release of the movie.

Experiences of Mano Murthy, (Music Director)

I remember that Chandru spent more than one year just trying to finalize just the idea for his next movie. In the process, he came to the US a couple of times and we met a couple of times in California as well. It was December of 1999 when he first told me the story line for NPH. I did not take him too seriously because he had told me other story lines before and nothing ever happened to those movies! But when he started talking about song situations and so on, scene by scene, that's when I realized that he was serious! The very first thing he discussed was the subject of the Car-Car song. He made a special trip to Detroit just to shoot some videos of cars and so on. He came back with this video of some cars and asked me to do a song for it. I thought Chandru must have started smoking something! I had no idea that he was serious. I still had no idea how it would come out at the end. In any case, I made a very simple tune and gave it to him for the lyrics. I guess the rest is history.

I set the lyrics to music. He also gave me one line of lyrics for Moodal Kungal and asked me to do a fusion song based on that. So, I did that and we even recorded that. I liked the version very much - and I think Chandru also like it. But, unfortunately after the recording we found that the song was very difficult to choreograph due to the nature of the fusion in the song. So, Chandru asked me to change the style of the song while keeping the tune the same - he gave me new lyrics and I set it to a folk style melody. This is the reason why there are two versions of the song on the audio cassette and CD. RamPrasad - who is a good friend of mine as well as Chandru's is the new singer who has song in this song and he had to sing it twice - each time differently. He has done a very good job. For the remaining songs, I provided the tune first and then Chandru gave the lyrics for that. After seeing the movie, I was really inspired to give the background music (what is also known as re-recording). It was such as simple and sweet story - the innocent love between two teenage students, it was very easy to come up with the themes for the background music.

The nice thing about Chandru is that he gives you the high level direction and leaves you alone - he trusts your ability to deliver. At the same time, he is not shy about telling you when he does'nt like something! Of course, I have been threatening Chandru that I will give music for all his movies! And one of these days, I will get the lyrics and the rough cut edited video of the movie out of him on time, well in advance! To summarize, the making of NPH was a lot of hard work but fun and like all other Nagathihalli movies, is sure to please the audience!

Experiences of Ram-Prasad,(Singer )

When he started his movie Nanna Preetiya Hudugi,he offered me a song moodal kuNigal kere,
which is his very favorite song. I was kind of nervous singing for such a big budget movie, but still
I remember him saying "yochnay maadhay haaDi. nimma song definite-aagi nanna chitradhalli iruththay.
He also sat with me during the recording and actually did the spoon feeding when it came to
pronunciation and bhava of the song. This gave me lot of confindence and so I sang that song with ease.
