Kwara Revenue Agency generated N18 billion in 6 months
The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) generated N18.036 billion in the first half of 2022.
The agency’s chairwoman, Ms. Shade Omoniyi, revealed this during an interview with LEADERSHIP in Ilorin, the state capital.
Omoniyi said the feat was a leap from collecting revenue of 16 billion naira for the half of 2021.
She revealed that KWIRS, thanks to its hardworking staff, also achieved 95.61% of its annual target in 2021.
She added that this achievement was the highest target since the agency was established in 2016.
To further encourage agency staff to do more in conducting IGR, Omoniyi said a total of 332 staff have been promoted while another 235 staff have also been given an upgrade.
“The list of recipients shows the inclusion of 16 senior and 316 junior staff in the service. This is in recognition of the contribution of the staff to the overall achievement of the service and in particular to the discounting of 95.61% of our 2021 annual budget, an achievement which is the highest goal achieved since the establishment of the service. agency in 2016.
“The service was also able to secure IGR 18.036 billion in revenue collection for the state in the 2022 semester, a jump from the 2021 semester revenue collection of 16 billion naira,” he said. she revealed.
